Things folks might care about regarding me:

  • Linux nerd for over 10 years now.
  • Cool website (shickmo.io) where I produce videos and articles around technology, linux, and open source in general.
  • Father of fur babies both grand and small.

Have you ever wondered how other professionals utilize Linux and open source applications in their business workflows? Are you a home Linux user but haven't been able to take the plunge at work because there are pieces of your workflow you don't know how to migrate to open source alternatives? Are you sick of using closed source proprietary applications to get the job done?

This presentation is for you. I will walk you through an example workflow connecting open source applications to a predominately Microsoft centric company. We will discuss not only applications used but also basic configurations of those applications to make sure you hit the ground running and don't get caught up going down time wasting rabbit holes.

This is a presentation that is geared toward beginners and intermediate Linux users / newcomers. The attendees of this talk will learn how to setup and configure chat, email, and cloud storage sync applications in a fairly distro agnostic fashion.
