Evan is co-founder of LPI and its Director of Community Development, as well as President of the Greater Toronto Area Linux User Group (GTALUG). He has worked in open source and open systems since the 1980s.

Now used in small projects and critical infrastructure alike, open source developers and community members are under increasing pressure to develop ethical and governance guidelines that ensure both public trust and project sustainability. This session will examine some of the ethical issues facing open source projects, including approaches such as Ethical Source and Open Core that may offer both choice and confusion. It will also address other ethical issues within open source such as community inclusion, codes of conduct and conflict of interest.
