Pop!_OS - A visionary tale of an OS that will.
Presented by:
Sri
Sriram Ramkrishna is the community manager for System76. He spends his day managing the communities, building relationships, and babbling. With over 20 years of experience, Sri started off as a systems adminstrator for 15 years at Intel Corp, before jumping to the open source software division at Intel for another 5. Somewhere in that time frame Sri went from engineer to engineering manager to marketing. If you're confused, so am I.
In addition to his work experience, Sri spent 20 years working with the GNOME Foundation as their unofficial community manager. He's a former director of the GNOME Foundation and had worked on issues like trademark battle with Groupon amongst others.
A year ago, System76, seller of Linux laptops and desktops had bet their future on Unity. With the announcement of its demise by Canonical; System76 found itself on a journey of building and supporting your own OS. How build a community around it, how to work with upstream, and processing feedback from the community.
Sriram Ramkrishna, community manager for System76 tells the tale and it's direction as it gathers steam (pun intended!) and momentum.
