Sarterus Rowe is a professor and techie working at Northwest Justice Project, managing the National Technology Assistance Project and teaching at the University of Washington and Seattle University. He is also a former Chairman of the Board for Washington Lawyers for the Arts. Sart teaches as an adjunct in the areas of Privacy law, Ethics, Copyright and Information Policy.

Sart has worked for Creative Commons, Public Knowledge, the Washington State Access to Justice Board, Microsoft, Wizards of the Coast, and Disability Rights Washington. He is also a social media expert with a modest YouTube following.

Sart has a background in Information technology and law. Sart holds a B.S. in Informatics and a B.A. in Political Science, both for the university of Washington and a J.D. for Seattle University. And was the winner of the 2009 WSBA IP Section Scholarship Award and a Google Public Policy Fellowship.

Copyright law is mine field that is being abused on major video sharing sites to take producers revenues and censor unpopular messages. We will explore examples of copyright misuse and how to protect yourself as a remixer and creator from the trolls. This talk will include recent cases and controversies and lots of time for Q&A with local Copyright lawyer and Free Culture evangelist.
